Acid and corrosive liquids need a storage cabinet that won't degrade and that contains a leak before it reaches the floor. This range of acid storage cabinets is built for exactly that — the safe, segregated storage of corrosive substances as part of your COSHH and DSEAR controls.
Each cabinet is robustly constructed from 1.2mm sheet steel with all-formed welded seams for strength and improved protection from fire penetration. Doors carry vertical reinforcement panels to prevent distortion, and a return flange runs around the doors and joints to slow the passage of flame. Units are designed to comply with the Flammable Liquid Storage Regulations and Health and Safety guidance notes HSG51 and CS19 as appropriate, and meet Factory Inspectorate Certificate of Approval No.1 Parts 3 and 4. Security comes from all-metal locks supplied with two keys.
Inside, adjustable galvanised shelves set to 75mm centres let you configure the cabinet around your containers; the shelves are reversible so they double as spill-retaining trays. Floor stands are available for the five smallest sizes, raising the unit by 450mm to a comfortable working height and off a wet floor.
Choosing an acid storage cabinet
Size the cabinet by the volume of corrosives you hold and the secondary containment you need — your sump or tray capacity should hold the largest single container, and ideally a proportion of the total stored. Keep acids segregated from flammables and from materials they react with, site the cabinet in a ventilated area away from exits, and fit the supplied regulation signage. For a full breakdown of legal duties, see our COSHH cabinet requirements guide.
