Turntable Trucks: Steered Platform Trucks for Long, Loaded Runs
A turntable truck is a four-wheel platform truck whose front axle pivots on a turntable plate, so the truck steers rather than being slewed around by brute force. On anything longer than a couple of metres, or heavier than a few hundred kilos, that is the difference between a truck an operator can place accurately in an aisle and one they fight.

GPC Turntable Trucks — 1000 kg
Manufactured from fully welded tubular steel and angle section with an exterior grade plywood platform, and fitted with a ball-bearing turntable assembly so the truck is easily steered when loaded.

Platform sizes: 1500 x 800 mm (TP601) and 2000 x 1000 mm (TP602).

With sides and ends: TP621 and TP622, sides and ends 300 mm deep.

Wheels: cushion (model suffix M) or pneumatic (suffix C).

STUBBS Heavy Duty Turntable Trucks — up to 1500 kg
Built for reliable transport of large, bulky goods in industrial and warehouse environments, with a turntable assembly for manoeuvrability and a durable black powder coated finish over exterior grade tongue and groove decks and sides.

Platform sizes: 1500 x 750 mm, 1800 x 900 mm and 2000 x 1000 mm.

Side options: 200 mm deep hinged sides, or slide-in sides at 2 x 200 mm giving 400 mm depth.

Mesh option: a wire mesh superstructure version with a half drop side for easier loading and unloading — the detail that matters if the truck is loaded by hand rather than over the end.

Wheels: 355 mm cushion (suffix PCR) or 400 mm pneumatic (suffix QPR).
Cushion or Pneumatic Wheels?
Cushion wheels roll with less effort on smooth, sound internal floors and take up less space. Pneumatic wheels absorb shock and cope far better with expansion joints, thresholds, gravel and yard surfaces, at the cost of a slightly higher rolling resistance and a tyre that needs checking. Choose on the worst surface the truck will cross, not the best one.
Turntable or Ackerman Steering?
Both give you a steered truck; they behave differently.

Turntable pivots the whole front axle on a plate. Simple, robust, and the standard choice for hand-drawn and hand-pushed use.

Ackerman steers from a central pivot transmitted by adjustable track rods, with the wheels remaining under the corners of the deck at all times — which is why it is the geometry used for towed trailers, where a tipping load at speed is the risk. See Ackerman trucks and trailers.
If the truck is to be pulled by hand rather than pushed, look at hand-drawn trucks, which are supplied with a friction turntable plate as standard. If it will be towed behind a powered unit, see electric tugs.
