Semi-Electric Stackers

Semi-Electric Stackers

Semi-electric stackers give you powered lifting with manual travel — the operator pushes and steers the stacker by hand, but the mast is raised by a battery-powered hydraulic pack instead of a hand pump. For workshops and stores that stack pallets to racking or mezzanine-feed height a few times an hour, that removes the hardest physical part of the job at a fraction of the cost of a fully powered stacker.

GPC VULCAN semi-electric stackers

Our semi-electric range is the GPC Industries VULCAN line, manufactured in the UK. Standard models conform to EN 1757-1, are CE marked and plated, and combine easy push-and-pull manual movement with powered lifting controlled from the steering handle. They run on 180mm steering wheels with foot guards and 74mm tandem rollers, powered by a 12v/150Ah battery with a built-in charger — plug in overnight and it is ready for the next shift. Adjustable fork units are available on request.

Semi-electric straddle stackers

The VULCAN Semi Electric Straddle Stacker with Adjustable Forks conforms to EN 1757-2 and adds straddle legs that pass either side of the pallet, letting the stacker handle bottomless and Euro pallets and place loads flush to the floor. Adjustable forks and straddle legs give an overall width of 1,100 to 1,380mm, with a 1,150mm fork length, 600mm load centre and a tight 1,350mm turning radius. Lifting comes from a heavy-duty 1,500W electro-hydraulic power pack with tandem lift chains and full guarding; lowered mast heights run from 1,790mm (PSS30E) to 2,040mm (PSS35E), with raised heights from 1,600mm (PSS16E) upwards.

Semi-electric, hydraulic or fully powered?

Choose a semi-electric stacker when powered travel is not worth paying for but repeated hand-pumping is a strain — it sits neatly between our manual hydraulic stackers (lowest cost, pump lift) and fully powered stackers (powered lift and drive for high-volume work). If your loads only ever travel at ground level, a pallet truck may be all you need — see the full pallet truck range or our guide to pallet stackers vs pallet trucks. Browse all types on the main pallet stackers page, and get in touch if you would like help matching a model to your lift height and load.
