Secure, covered cycle parking encourages staff and visitors to ride to work, keeps bikes out of the weather, and is increasingly asked for by local planning conditions and BREEAM assessments. Our cycle shelters are manufactured in the UK by GPC Industries, built in steel for years of outdoor service, and are available in two industrial formats: the Blue Industrial Cycle Shelter (model BCS03Z) and the Green Cycle Shelter (model BCS07Z) — the same robust shelter in two colourways to suit workplace, school and public-site settings.
Choosing a workplace bike shelter
The job of a bike shelter is simple: a weatherproof roof over a defined parking area, so bikes stay dry and the site stays tidy. When you're comparing options, think about capacity first — count realistic peak demand rather than total headcount, and remember cycle parking tends to fill quickly once it exists. If theft is a concern, siting does much of the work: put the shelter where it is overlooked, well lit and close to the entrance people actually use, rather than tucked away behind the building.
Siting and installation
Like all our outdoor shelters, cycle shelters need a firm, level base — concrete or paving is ideal — and you should confirm the required base area and check for buried services before fixing down. Orient open-fronted shelters away from the prevailing wind so the parking stays usable in bad weather. Schools and workplaces adding cycle parking alongside other outdoor works often find it efficient to sort bin storage or a smoking shelter in the same installation visit.
Both shelters are part of our wider outdoor shelters range, which also covers smoking shelters and bin shelters.
