Cloakroom & Changing Room Benches Built for Daily Heavy Use
Our cloakroom benches are UK-manufactured by Probe — welded tubular mild steel frames, powder-coated in a choice of seven colours, with seat slats in hardwood or hardwearing black polymer. They're designed for the places benches get punished: school cloakrooms, sports clubs, gyms, leisure centres, factory changing rooms and staff welfare areas. Every bench ships with full ironmongery and floor-fixing brackets included.
Single or Double Sided
Single-sided benches sit against a wall — seat on one side, with hooks or rails above. They suit corridors, narrow changing rooms and perimeter runs. Double-sided benches are island units, seating users on both sides with central hanging — the efficient choice for larger changing rooms where you want maximum capacity per square metre of floor.
Hanging & Storage Configurations
Pick the layout that matches how the room is used:

With coat hooks — the classic cloakroom format: a hook rail above the seat for coats, bags and PE kit.

With overhead rail — a high-level rail (frames to 1,840mm) for hangers and longer garments; suited to staff changing areas and sports pavilions.

With undershelf — a shelf beneath the seat keeps boots, trainers and bags off the floor, making cleaning easier.

With baskets — wire basket storage under the seat for kit that needs airflow.

Low seat — seat-only benches (around 1,000mm high to the frame, seat at sitting height) for the middle of a changing room or where hanging is handled by lockers.
Senior, Junior and Infant Heights
Probe builds each bench at three heights, so the same range works for adult workplaces, secondary schools, primary schools and nurseries. Choose Senior for workplaces, gyms and clubs; Junior and Infant drop the seat and hook heights to suit younger pupils — an easy way to meet the practical needs of a school cloakroom without custom fabrication.
Sizes, Colours and Slats
Standard lengths are typically 1,000, 1,500 and 1,800mm, so you can run combinations along a wall to fit the room. Frames come in red, yellow, blue, green, black, white or silver — useful for colour-coding year groups, departments or home/away changing rooms. Seat slats are available in natural hardwood for a traditional finish, or black polymer where you want maximum resistance to moisture and scuffing (a sensible choice for swimming pools and wet changing areas).
How to Choose
Work through four questions: (1) Wall or island? Single-sided against walls, double-sided for the centre of the room. (2) How will users hang kit? Hooks for bags and coats, overhead rail for hangers, or low seat if lockers do the hanging. (3) Who's using it? Senior, Junior or Infant height. (4) What lives under the seat? Undershelf for footwear, baskets for airflow, or nothing for easy mopping.
