How many doors do PowerBox charging lockers come in?

Four, eight, ten and sixteen doors, each available with a flat or sloping top. Compartment sizes are 300 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm, 380 × 450 mm and 450 × 450 mm.

Which size is best value per compartment?

The 8-door bank. At £987.31 for the full 3-pin mains plus USB-A and USB-C specification it costs only £11.59 more than the 4-door at £975.72 and gives twice the compartments — £123.41 per compartment against £243.93. The cheapest compartment in the range is the 16-door mains-only bank at £66.17.

How much does a sloping top add?

A flat £24.76–£24.78 regardless of bank size, so it works out at 3.0% on a 10-door mains unit and 1.4% on a 16-door mains-plus-USB unit. A sloping top stops bags and cups being left on the roof of the locker, which matters most in corridors and reception areas.

What colours are available?

Three carcass colours — black, silver and white — and seven door colours: black, blue, green, red, silver, white and yellow. All are powder-coated over cold-rolled mild steel.

Does each compartment charge independently?

Yes. Every compartment has its own charging outlet behind its own locked door, so a device charges without sharing a socket or leaving a charger out in the open.

Do charging lockers need an electrician to install?

The locker bank needs a mains supply at its installed position, so a competent electrician should make the final connection and the installation should be inspected and tested to BS 7671 like any other fixed electrical equipment. Plan the socket position before the lockers arrive — moving a bank after installation is the expensive part.

The PowerBox range

PowerBox lockers are supplied in 4, 8, 10 and 16-door layouts, with a choice of flat top or sloping top, and three charging options inside each compartment:

USB-A — charges most phones and tablets on a standard USB cable.
USB-C — for recent phones, tablets and USB-C laptops.
3-pin UK mains — a BS 1363 socket for laptops and mains-only kit.

Combined models offer mains + USB-A + USB-C together, so one bank charges a mixed fleet. All are built to Probe's cold-rolled mild-steel specification, powder-coated and UK-made.

How to choose

Match the charging standard to your devices, pick 10-door for larger items or 16-door for density, choose a top style to suit the space, and select a lock type for day-use or allocated use. Door count is the price decision, not the charging type

Across the whole PowerBox range the cost per lockable compartment falls sharply as the bank gets bigger, and the step from four doors to eight is the one worth knowing about:

The four-door bank costs £11.59 less than the eight-door and gives you half the compartments. Unless the alcove genuinely will not take the taller unit, the eight-door is the better buy at almost identical money. Beyond that the curve flattens: the sixteen-door reaches £110.66 per compartment on the full mains-plus-USB specification, and a mains-only 16-door bank is the cheapest compartment in the range at £66.17.

The sloping top is a flat charge, not a percentage. It adds £24.76–£24.78 whatever the size of the bank — so it costs 3.0% on a 10-door mains unit and only 1.4% on a 16-door mains-plus-USB unit. If you want a sloping top to stop items being left on the roof, it gets proportionally cheaper the bigger the bank you buy.
