Standard pallet truck forks are made to slide into a pallet — they are the wrong shape for carrying a roll, reel or cable drum, which needs to be cradled horizontally so it cannot roll off. A reel handling pallet truck uses shaped or spaced forks designed specifically to lift and move horizontal cylindrical loads safely.
KC Supply stocks GPC reel handling trucks in both manual and fully powered forms. The manual VULCAN Reel Handling Pallet Truck conforms to EN 1757-2, is CE marked and plated, and runs on 200 × 50mm steering wheels with 82 × 70mm tandem rollers; its chassis is reinforced at the 'A' frame and along the legs, with a slow-lowering hand-control valve and fingertip three-position lever. For heavier or higher-throughput work, the Fully Powered Reel Handling Truck offers powered lift, lower and travel with built-in safety interlocks and operator protection, UKCA marked and plated: model FPRPT10 carries 1,000kg (750–1,000mm reels, 960mm over forks) and FPRPT20 carries 2,000kg (1,200–1,600mm reels, 1,080mm over forks), supplied with an external charger.
Choose by load weight, reel diameter and how often you move them — manual for occasional lifts, fully powered for repeat handling. Browse the full pallet trucks range or the powered pallet trucks selection.
