A standard pallet truck is built for smooth, level warehouse floors — its small polyurethane load rollers stall the moment they meet gravel, broken tarmac, expansion joints or a wet builder's yard. A rough terrain pallet truck solves that with oversized, often pneumatic or solid-rubber wheels and higher ground clearance, so a loaded pallet can be moved across uneven outdoor surfaces by hand.
The GPC rough terrain truck (model GZR11N) is a manual hydraulic hand pallet truck fitted with large-diameter terrain wheels in place of the usual nylon steer and tandem rollers. It keeps the familiar three-position pump-lever control — raise, lower and neutral for towing — but rides over surfaces that would defeat a conventional truck. Typical uses are timber and builders' merchants, agricultural sites, garden centres, kerbside deliveries and any job where pallets cross a yard before reaching a hard floor.
When choosing, match the rated capacity to your heaviest pallet, check the wheel type suits your surface (pneumatic for the roughest ground, solid for puncture-free running), and remember that no pallet truck is a substitute for a forklift on a steep gradient. Under PUWER 1998 all handling equipment should be inspected and maintained in service.
