Wire Mesh Trucks: Enclosed, Lockable Trucks You Can See Into
A wire mesh truck does two jobs a solid-sided truck cannot do at once: it keeps the load secure and it keeps the load visible. For despatch, returns handling, stock audits and anything moving through shared or public areas, being able to see what is on the truck without opening it saves time and settles arguments.

Construction and Specification

Mesh: 50 mm mesh construction.

Base: 18 mm exterior grade plywood.

Castors: two fixed and two swivel 125 mm castors.

Locking: the lids are padlockable — padlock not included.

Capacity: 1300 litres on both models.
The security detail worth understanding is the interlock between lid and front: when the lid is shut, the drop-down front will not open, leaving a completely secure and enclosed unit. One padlock therefore secures the whole truck rather than just the top.
Two Configurations

GL1553 — Wire Mesh Security Truck, 1300 L. The standard unit.

GL1573 — Wire Mesh Security Truck, half drop side, 1300 L. The half drop side makes hand-loading and picking out of the truck considerably easier where the unit is filled item by item rather than tipped or forked.
Choose on how the truck gets filled, not just on what goes in it. If everything is loaded from above, the standard unit is fine. If operators are reaching in repeatedly at waist height, the drop side is worth the difference.
Delivery
A forklift will be needed to unload these units. This is stated in the manufacturer's own specification and it catches buyers out more often than any other detail on welded steel handling equipment — confirm your unloading arrangements before the delivery is booked.
