The Owner's Insights on the Industrial Cycle Shelter
Galvanised roof and sides, which is the version to buy if the shelter is going somewhere exposed or somewhere people throw things. Solid panels rather than polycarbonate means nothing cracks, nothing yellows, and it will still look serviceable in ten years.
The staggered storage is the detail worth understanding. Bikes go in at alternating heights so handlebars do not foul each other, which is what turns a seven bike rack into a five bike rack in practice. You actually get seven bikes in this one.
Curved roof with drainage gutters, so water runs off to the ends rather than dripping on whoever is unlocking their bike. At 2600 x 2480mm it needs a proper base. It is not something you stand on grass.
Why You'll Love this Cycle Shelter
- Fits up to 7 bikes: genuinely seven, because the staggered storage stops handlebars clashing.
- Galvanised roof and sides: solid panels that will not crack, craze or discolour the way polycarbonate can.
- Curved roof with drainage gutters: water runs off to the ends instead of onto people and bikes.
- Heavy gauge steel bolted framework: assembles on site and can be dismantled if you relocate.
- Staggered storage: alternating heights mean the stated capacity is the real capacity.
Why You Should Consider a GPC Cycle Shelter
GPC build these as bolted panel systems rather than welded frames, which means they go through a gateway in sections and can be taken down and moved. For a shelter on a leased site that is worth more than it sounds.

Galvanised or polycarbonate panels?
Galvanised steel is opaque, tougher and will outlast polycarbonate in an exposed or high traffic position. Polycarbonate lets daylight through, which makes the shelter feel safer to use after dark and is often preferred where the shelter is overlooked or on a staff route. We stock the polycarbonate version in green if that suits better. Neither is the correct answer in every case.
What base does it need?
A level hard standing, sized to the 2600 x 2480mm footprint with working room around it. Concrete or tarmac both work. Do not put it on grass or gravel: a shelter this size needs to be fixed down and that means a solid base.
