Hand truck, semi powered or fully powered?

A hand truck is right for short moves and occasional use, and costs least. A semi powered truck gives you powered lift with manual push, which suits heavy pallets moved short distances. Fully powered gives you both, and earns its keep when pallets travel real distances repeatedly through a shift. Be honest about your distances before paying for drive you will not use.

Do you need a licence?

A pedestrian-controlled powered pallet truck is not a forklift and needs no equivalent certification. UK employers still have PUWER duties to ensure users are adequately trained and the equipment suitable and maintained, so familiarisation and a record of it is the expectation.
