The Owner's Insights on the Lock Up Security Cage
This is a cage you build around a problem. Fifty millimetre mesh panels with a galvanised roof, bolted together on site, with a hasp and staple so you put your own padlock on it. People buy them to stop internal shrinkage on high value stock, or to make a compound inside a shared unit.
The mesh roof matters. A cage without one is a fence, and anyone can go over the top of a fence. Galvanised means it survives a damp warehouse or an outdoor position.
It needs assembling, and a forklift to offload. Neither is difficult but both want planning before the lorry turns up.
Why You'll Love the Lock Up Security Cage
- 50 x 50mm mesh panels: small enough aperture to stop a hand reaching through for stock.
- Galvanised roof included: closes the top, so the cage is a secure box rather than a fence.
- Hasp and staple locking facility: takes your own padlock, so you control the keys.
- Bolt together construction: assembles on site, so it fits through doorways a welded cage never would.
- Mesh panel sides: contents stay visible for stock checks without unlocking.
Why You Should Consider a Grenadier Cage
Grenadier is GPC's heavy range. For a security cage the thing that fails first is usually the fixings and the panel edges rather than the mesh, which is where a trade-grade cage separates from a budget one. Galvanising on the roof is standard here rather than an upgrade.

Do you need the roof?
If the cage is protecting stock from people rather than weather, yes. An open-topped cage is climbable and anything stacked next to it becomes a step. The roof is what makes it a secure enclosure rather than a deterrent.
How much assembly is involved?
It arrives as bolt-together panels. Two people and a set of spanners will have it up in an afternoon. The upside of bolting rather than welding is that the panels fit through a standard doorway and the cage can be dismantled and moved if you relocate.
