Galvanised rather than painted, which is the version to buy if the cage is going outside or anywhere damp. Paint chips on the edges where the forklift catches it and corrosion starts from there. Galvanising goes all the way through the coating and does not.

Internal size is 1390 high by 1150 by 1150, in an external footprint of 1200 by 1200 at 1800 tall. Check those internal figures against what you are putting in, because the difference between external and internal matters on a cage with a substantial frame.

Five hundred kilos capacity. That is a genuine working load for stock, not a nominal figure, though it is worth saying that at 500kg loaded this needs a forklift to move rather than two people and optimism.

Grenadier is GPC's heavy end, and the galvanised version is the one specified for outdoor and wash-down areas. The key figure is that internal dimension: plenty of suppliers quote external only, which is how people end up with a cage their stock will not go into.

Galvanised or painted?

Galvanised for anywhere outdoors, damp, or subject to wash-down. Painted is fine in a dry warehouse and costs less. The failure mode on a painted cage is always the same: a forklift tine or a pallet corner takes the paint off an edge, and rust spreads under the coating from there. Galvanising does not fail that way.

Will your stock fit?

Work from the internal figures, 1390 high by 1150 by 1150, not the external 1200 by 1200 by 1800. The frame takes up the difference. If you are storing something close to those dimensions, measure twice and call us on 020 3004 1152 if it is marginal.

Delivery and unloading

15 to 20 day lead time. A forklift will be needed to unload, and to move the cage once loaded.
