An IBC holds 1000 litres. If one splits, you need somewhere for all of it to go, and that is what the 1200 litre deep sump in the base of this unit is for. It is the largest containment GPC build into a storage unit, and the margin over a full IBC is deliberate.

Same shell, different sump. The IBC version holds 1200 litres against 780 for the drum version, because a single IBC carries 1000 litres where a drum carries around 205. If you are storing IBCs, you need the deeper sump. If you are storing drums, the drum version costs less and the 780 litre sump is sized for that job.
