The Owner's Insights on the Pallet Level Loader with Bellows

Two differences from the standard level loader, and both matter. The lift is 1000mm rather than 710mm, so it covers a taller stack. And the scissor mechanism underneath is enclosed in bellows.

The bellows are the reason to pay the extra. An open scissor action at floor level is a trap for feet, fingers and anything that drops into it, and once something is in the mechanism the loader either jams or crushes it. Bellows close the gap entirely. If the loader sits in an area where people walk past, or you handle loose material that could fall in, this is the version to buy.

Like the standard version it is spring loaded and passive. No power, no controls, nothing to fail. The platform sinks as you load it and rises as you unload, keeping the working face at a sensible height.

Why You Should Consider a VULCAN Level Loader

Spring levellers are only as good as their springs, and under-specified ones sag permanently inside a year so the platform stops returning. GPC use heavy duty springs here. The bellows option is not universally offered at this price point and is worth seeking out if the loader is in a shared area.

Do you need the bellows?

Yes if the loader is anywhere people walk past, if more than one person uses it, or if you handle loose items, packaging or small components that could drop into the scissor action. No if it sits in a dedicated bay with one trained operator and nothing loose around it, in which case the standard version saves you money. We stock both and will not push you to the dearer one without reason.

710mm or 1000mm lift?

The extra travel matters if you are building or breaking down tall pallets, because the platform can start lower and finish higher while keeping the working face constant. For standard pallet heights the 710mm standard version is sufficient. If your stacks go above about 1.5 metres, take the 1000mm.

Level loader or lift table?

A level loader is passive and keeps a load at roughly constant height as weight changes. A lift table is powered and raises a load to a height you choose. For hand loading and unloading pallets the level loader is simpler and has nothing to go wrong. If you need a specific height set and held, you need a lift table.
