The Owner's Insights on the PalletDisc

A pallet on the floor means walking round it to reach all four sides, or reaching across it, which is where the back strain comes from. A turntable means the pallet comes to you: load one face, spin it ninety degrees, load the next.

The ramped edge is what makes it work in practice. A pallet truck rolls straight up onto the disc without lifting, so getting the pallet on and off is not a job in itself. Plenty of turntables need a forklift to load, which defeats the point.

It locks. That matters more than it sounds: a free-spinning turntable under a part-built pallet is an irritation when you are trying to shrink wrap, and a hazard when someone leans on it. Lock it for wrapping, release it for picking.

Why You'll Love the PalletDisc

  • Free-rotating pallet deck: turn the pallet instead of walking round it or reaching across.
  • Ramped edge for pallet truck loading: roll a pallet straight on with a hand truck, no forklift needed.
  • Rotation lock: holds the pallet still for wrapping or strapping, releases for picking and building.
  • Cuts reaching and twisting: directly addresses the awkward postures behind most manual handling injuries.
  • VULCAN build: GPC's handling equipment range.
  • 10 day lead time: quick to get on site.

Why You Should Consider a VULCAN PalletDisc

Two details separate a useful turntable from a frustrating one: whether a pallet truck can get a pallet onto it unaided, and whether it locks. This has both. A turntable that needs a forklift to load, or that spins when you want it still, ends up pushed into a corner.

Who gets the most out of a pallet turntable?

Anywhere a pallet is built or broken down by hand: order picking, shrink wrapping, kitting, repacking. If pallets arrive and leave on a forklift without anyone touching them, you do not need one. If someone is loading a pallet face by face, it pays for itself in reach and twist alone.

Turntable or level loader?

A turntable rotates the pallet so you can reach all four sides. A level loader raises and lowers it so the working face stays at a comfortable height. They solve different halves of the same problem, and plenty of sites use both together for hand-built pallets.
