Do you need a licence for a powered pallet truck?

A pedestrian-controlled powered pallet truck is not a forklift and does not require the same formal operator certification. UK employers still have duties under PUWER to ensure anyone using work equipment is adequately trained and that the equipment is suitable and maintained, so proper familiarisation and a record of it is expected. Weigh your heaviest regular pallet before deciding. Most general warehousing runs well under a tonne, and the standard fully powered truck covers that for considerably less.
