Sheet material stored leaning against a wall bows, scratches and eventually falls on someone. This is the alternative: upright bays with intermediate floor bracing so each sheet is supported along its length rather than resting on one edge.

Fully welded rather than bolted. On racking holding sheets of ply, steel or acrylic the loads are awkward and lateral, and welded frames do not work loose the way bolted ones do when stock is dragged in and out daily.

Honest note: it takes up wall length. Sheet racking is not compact and there is no version that is. Measure the run you can give it before ordering, because the common mistake is buying a rack that does not fit the only wall it could go against.

Sheet Racking Specifications

Sheet racking or a vertical storage rack?

Sheet racking is for flat material: ply, board, steel sheet, acrylic. A vertical storage rack handles long stock such as bar, tube and extrusion stood on end. Different products for different shapes, and we stock both. If you have a mix, you generally need both rather than one compromise.

How much wall do you need?

More than people expect. Work out the longest sheet you handle and add working clearance at each end for getting it in and out. Ring us on 020 3004 1152 with your sheet sizes and the run available and we will tell you which of the seven sizes fits.

Delivery and unloading

A forklift is typically needed for welded racking of this size. Confirm your offloading arrangements with us when you order.
