The Owner's Insights on the Double Scissor Lift Table

This is the big one in the VULCAN lift table range. Double scissor, 1,000 kg, and a platform that goes from 500mm off the floor to 1,700mm. That 1,700mm figure is what you are paying for: a single scissor table of the same capacity tops out at 990mm, which is bench height. This one reaches shoulder height and above.

Raising is a pump action foot pedal, so both hands stay on the load. Lowering is a hand operated release trigger, which gives you a controlled descent rather than a drop. The castors are 125 x 40mm polyurethane with wheel guards, two fixed and two swivel braked, so it tracks straight when you push it and stays put when you do not want it moving.

The honest limitation is the lowered height. At 500mm the platform does not come down to floor level, so you cannot roll a pallet truck onto it or slide a load across from the ground. If you need to load at floor level, you want a low profile table or a pit mounted lift instead. This is a table you load at knee height and lift from there.

Single or double scissor?

Capacity is not the deciding factor, because both go up to 1,000 kg. Height is. A single scissor table at 1,000 kg lifts to 990mm on a 1,016 x 510mm platform. This double scissor model lifts to 1,700mm on a larger 1,200 x 610mm platform. If you are feeding a machine or a bench at standing height, single scissor is enough and costs less. If you need to reach above waist height, or load onto a second level, you need the double.

Which standard does it meet?

Worth knowing if you need documented compliance for an audit. GPC's current product listing states the range complies with EN 1570:2011, the standard for lifting tables. GPC's own technical data sheet for the same range states conformity with EN 1757-4. Both are plausible for a manual scissor table, but they are different standards and we are not going to guess which one the declaration of conformity actually names. Delivery

Lead time is 7 days. The table arrives assembled and on its castors, so it can be wheeled off a tail lift. Check your doorway against the 1,200mm platform length and the 500mm lowered height before ordering.
