Bott Cubio — heavy duty workbenches and drawer cabinets

Cubio is the range to buy when the bench takes a beating: a Bott Cubio framework bench is built on a braced, welded steel channel framework and carries up to 1,000 kg depending on the worktop, from £489. Beyond the basic framework bench the range runs to 3-drawer cabinet benches, full pedestal benches (£2,949–£2,999 at 2000 mm), island benches you can work all the way around (£1,999–£2,209), and the big 1100 mm and 1350 mm square pedestal formats (£4,679–£5,359) for toolroom and inspection work.

Most searches for Bott cabinets end here. The Cubio drawer cabinets are the heart of the range and the spec is unusually honest: a reinforced steel housing rated to 1.5 tonnes total load, drawers on roller-bearing runners with galvanised steel drawer pans, 75 kg UDL per drawer, and 100% extension — the drawer comes fully out of the housing, so the spanner at the back is as reachable as the one at the front. Central locking with drawer blocking is standard, and electronic locking, drawer dividers, plinths and forklift bases are options. The Bott Cubio 5-Drawer Cabinet runs £959–£1,359, the 6-drawer £1,059–£1,569 and the 7-drawer £1,189–£1,659, with the drawer-door cabinet (drawers plus a cupboard section) at £789–£1,169.

For enclosed storage, the Cubio cupboard family uses the same reinforced housing: the tall cupboard (1300 × 650 × 2000 mm, £1,749–£2,409) hangs adjustable galvanised shelves rated at 160 kg UDL each behind double perfo-lined doors with 3-point locking, in two internal configurations — more drawers or more shelving. Roller shutter workshop cupboards (£1,669–£2,449) put the same capacity behind a shutter where an open door would block a walkway. Bott Verso — adjustable benches, mobile cabinets and cupboards

Verso is the flexible half of the catalogue and the affordable way into a Bott workbench. The Verso adjustable height framework bench starts at £279 and adjusts from 780 mm to 930 mm, with a full-depth base shelf and a 30 mm worktop in your choice of material — the right answer where operators share a bench or alternate between sitting and standing. Framework benches with 3-drawer cabinets (£919–£1,189), full-cupboard benches (£769–£1,029) and adjustable framework benches with drawers (£539–£809) build the same frame into a complete workstation.

The Bott Verso Mobile Cabinet (£639–£839) is the range's mobile tool cabinet: fully welded steel on 125 mm castors — two swivel castors braked — with a reinforced push–pull handle, double reinforced lockable doors opening to 180°, an adjustable galvanised shelf at 75 kg UDL and a 200 kg total load capacity. Worktop options are industrial lino, multiplex (MPX) or a three-sided top tray with anti-slip mat, which is the one to pick if it will carry loose parts between stations. Worktops: multiplex, lino or ESD — the decision most buyers skip

Every Bott bench asks the same question and it matters more than the frame: what is the top made of? Multiplex (MPX) is the wooden bott workbench option — a thick laminated ply that shrugs off impact and is the default for general mechanical work. Industrial lino gives a smooth, wipe-clean surface for inspection and cleaner assembly. ESD laminate is the anti-static option for electronics work, where a standard top can quietly kill components. Verso benches take all three at 30 mm thick; Cubio benches offer multiple industrial-grade tops including MPX and lino, and the bench's rated capacity is worktop dependent — which is why the same framework bench is listed "up to 1,000 kg" rather than as one number. Looking for a Bott tool chest or Bott drawers?

Bott does not make a traditional lidded tool chest. If you searched for a Bott tool chest, the product you want is a Cubio drawer cabinet — lockable, higher capacity, and rated per drawer rather than as one box. The 100% extension matters here: a part-extension drawer hides the back third of every layer, and the 75 kg UDL means a full drawer of hand tools is within rating, not an overload. Bott Perfo panels — tool storage above the bench

Perfo is Bott's modular panel system: square-perforated steel panels that take hooks, holders and bins via the Perfolock fixing, so tools can be repositioned in seconds without a fastener. The double-sided Perfo panel rack ships with ten panels and an 80-piece hook kit (£659); Perfo, Louvre and Combi panel trolleys (£769–£1,329) put the same storage on wheels; and panels mount to the back of any Cubio or Verso bench, which is the cheapest way to clear a worktop. Guarantee, assembly and delivery

Every Bott range we sell — Cubio, Verso and Perfo — is backed by Bott's 10-year extended guarantee, which is the strongest in this category and a large part of why Bott holds its value. Be aware that the framework benches require on-site assembly: they arrive as components, not as a welded unit, so plan a build slot rather than expecting to work off the bench the day it lands. We supply new Bott equipment only — every bench and cabinet for sale on this page is new stock, no used or ex-demo units; if you are weighing up a used cabinet privately, check the runners under load, confirm every drawer still achieves full extension, and make sure the central locking works before money changes hands. How to choose — five questions

1. What does the bench have to survive? Hammering, pressing and heavy vices point to Cubio's welded channel framework; assembly, maintenance and inspection point to Verso. 2. Fixed or adjustable height? One owner, one task — fixed. Shared bench or sit/stand working — Verso's 780–930 mm adjustment. 3. What goes underneath?
