Forklift Training Centres in the UK

Most forklift training in the UK doesn't happen at a training centre. In our research, a large share of providers send an instructor to the employer's own site, and plenty of the businesses advertising courses are dealers whose main trade is selling and hiring trucks. That works for a company with a fleet already in place. It's less useful if you're paying for your own licence, or you're a manager who wants new starters trained somewhere purpose-built before they set foot on your floor.

This guide lists the other kind: centres with their own premises, where you can turn up, train on their trucks and leave with a certificate. We've started with the cities where we found enough of them to make a list worth reading, and we'll add more as we verify them.

We're KC Supply, a UK supplier of warehouse and workshop equipment headed by former engineers. We sell pallet trucks, racking and safety equipment to the same warehouses these centres train people for. We don't run training ourselves.

How we chose

Every centre in this guide was checked against its Google listing and its own website, and had to meet all three of these:

  • A fixed training centre you can attend in person — not an on-site-only service, and not a forklift dealer's training arm.
  • Accredited by a recognised body such as RTITB, AITT, ITSSAR or NPORS — so the certificate means something to the next employer.
  • Consistently well reviewed by past trainees — judged on both rating and the number of reviews.

Nobody paid to appear on this list, and we don't take commission from the centres featured.
